ES After School Activities

The Seisen After School Activities (SASA) programme offers the opportunity for students to demonstrate the Learner Profile in action. In these classes, students apply leadership and communication skills, solve problems, use creativity, and develop friendships across grade levels. 

Each semester we offer around 25-30 activities, and we usually receive over 500 registrations.

Discover the Japanese art of flower arrangement! In this class, you will learn to connect with nature, improve your concentration, and create beautiful living art to take home. We will invite teachers from ' Ikebana Interntional ' who teach globally.  Sashiko is a special way of stitching that creates beautiful white patterns on blue fabric, you will use aizome (indigo) fabric. If you are familiar with sashiko already, you will make traditional stitches on own bag which we will provide you.                                                    

The lesson curriculum is split equally: half for Ikebana and half for Sashiko (embroidery). Join us for a peaceful and creative afternoon.

Important Note: Students signing up for FLL Bootcamp will need to join on both Monday and Tuesday. However, you will only pay the fee for one SASA.The FIRST Lego League Bootcamp is a hands-on experience in coding and innovative problem-solving. Students will be working together to design, build, and program robots to overcome challenges, as well as preparing them for the FIRST Lego League Competition. Students will learn the value of teamwork, innovation, and resilience while having fun. Students will also learn the basic elements of the FIRST Lego League competition. Participation in the bootcamp will also serve as a selection process, and a group of students will be chosen to represent Seisen in the FIRST LEGO League next season (2026-2027).

Seisen High School Students

Due to strong requests by our students, we have recruited high school students who will offer our first K-pop SASA. We will start with warm ups and an introduction to basic K-pop dances. When students are up for the challenge, we can try intermediate or advanced songs. We will also introduce other aspects of K-pop culture, including fashion, language, history, and music.

Join us for a fun and creative Jewelry Making Club. In this hands-on after-school program, students in Grades 1 to 2 will design and create their own colorful jewelry and accessories using beads, string, and simple tools. Children will make bracelets, necklaces, rings, headbands, keychains, and other fun accessories while building fine motor skills, creativity, and confidence. No experience is needed, just imagination and excitement to create! Each session is playful, welcoming, and focused on having fun while making special projects to take home.

Join our afterschool Logic & Puzzle Club, where we’ll tackle brain-bending games like Sudoku, logic puzzles, riddles, code-breaking, and word challenges. The Elementary School Choir is a perfect way to explore your singing voice and shine as a performer! The ES Choir will be featured at the inter-school Choral Festival held in May, as well as other smaller performances throughout the semester. We will sing many styles of music, You will sing with others while you work to be expressive and sing with beautiful tone. No solo singing is required, no previous training is required, all are welcome! If you have an interest in singing, this is for you!

Are you ready for a science adventure that's so fun, it's wild and wacky? Our Wild & Wacky Science class is the perfect place to get your hands messy and your mind buzzing with excitement. We'll be making awesome things you can actually eat, play with, and explore. You'll become a real-life scientist as we create amazing things like edible slime that you can stretch and taste, scented playdough that smells like autumn, and the incredible, magical goo known as oobleck that turns from a solid to a liquid in your hands. We'll discover how to make these cool creations, so you can show off your new skills to your friends and family. Come join us and find out how amazing, fun, and delicious science can be!

Do you look forward to recess every morning and afternoon? If so, this SASA is for you! Unlike our other SASAs, where teachers run activities, during unstructured free play, the students decide what and how they want to play. They develop their leadership and social skills, solving problems on their own as they play, communicate, and negotiate with a mixed-age group. Adult supervisors will be present, but children will be encouraged to play and solve problems independently, whenever possible.

Learn the basics of sewing and embroidery. Design and make your own bags, dolls and other items. Sewing equipment and materials will be provided in class. Absolute beginners are welcome. If you have sewn before, you can make your own project and learn new techniques. All student projects will be displayed in the cafeteria until the end of the session, then you can take your work home to keep! New students will be given a sewing box kit in the first class. Students who have taken this course before are asked to bring their sewing boxes to the class, and new materials will be given.

Are you ready to learn a new instrument? In this SASA, we will start with ukulele, learning chords and strumming patterns through playing and singing songs. Those who have mastered ukulele (playing and strumming 10+ chords) will be ready to try acoustic, electric, or bass guitar. We have ukuleles and guitars at Seisen, but those with their own instruments at home will be able to practice even more. We will focus on having fun, developing our musical skills, and working towards a special performance at the end!
