Joint Musical 2025 Shrek the Musical Ends Record-Setting Run

In the Multi-Purpose Hall at St. Mary’s International School, over 100 students and faculty from Seisen, St. Mary’s, and the International School of the Sacred Heart completed a four-show, sold-out run of this year’s Joint Musical, Shrek the Musical.

Over 1600 students, parents, faculty and staff, and members of the general public saw the show at one of its matinee and evening performances. That amount of attendees is unprecedented for the Joint Musical. This was also the first time that four performances were done over the three days of the musical’s run, and the first time that two different casts of principal roles were utilized.

“This was the most ambitious joint musical we’ve ever done,” said Seisen Drama Teacher and Director/Choreographer of Shrek the Musical, Dr. Jon Reimer. “Not only did we do an extra performance than we normally do, and worked with two principal casts instead of just one, this musical is also incredibly complex and demanding. Everyone really stepped up to the challenge, and everyone really seemed to love it.”

We hope just as many people will come to see next year’s Joint Musical, the classic musical by Stephen Sondheim Into the Woods, April 10-12, 2026.
