November has been a very busy month, kicking off with our 6th Grade, MS, and HS Choirs all performing at the Festival on November 1st. A big well-done to all students who participated in the performances on the day.

On the 15th, MS and HS students participated in the annual KPASS Solo and Ensemble Festival at SMIS, where singers performed self-selected and largely self-prepared pieces for a panel of adjudicators. Seisen vocalists were awarded in the Vocal segment of the Festival:

  • 5 Gold Awards (Sophia Hwang, Hina Senda, Jayoung Koo, Emi Barber, HS Vocal Ensemble Group 2)
  • 6 Silver Awards (Yura Imai, Sara Yokoyama, HS Vocal Ensemble Group 1, Grade 11 Ensemble, Yura Imai + Jillian Katori, Ami Tanoguchi + Lan Shuku)
  • 2 Bronze Awards (Sara Tanaka + Moma Nishiura, Lisa Terashima)

A huge congratulations to all who performed on the day, for the efforts and diligence in preparation for this prestigious music festival.

On the 26th, vocal performers who were awarded Bronze and above were invited to perform at the Annual Honor Recital, held at Kami Yoga Hall. A big thank you to the parents who came to support, on a beautiful night of celebrating the students' achievements.

Now, all attention is diverted to the combined SMIS and SIS Christmas concert on Sunday, December 7th, in which all Choral students from the 6th Grade to the 12th grade will participate.
