KPASS Honor Band & Orchestra 2025

We are immensely proud of Seisen's outstanding instrumentalists who delivered a truly memorable performance for the 2025 KPASS Honor Band & Orchestra 2025!  Congratulations to Hwi Young Kim (G12, clarinet), Lynn Kim (G12, flute), Yangfan Su (G12, principal alto saxophone), Mary Hudson (G11, trombone), Sora Ihara (G9, trombone), Risako Tai (G11, percussion), Mei Yamada (G9, percussion), Sakurako Ozaki (G11, violin), and Sara Tanaka (G11, violin). Their selection through competitive auditions speaks volumes about their dedication and talent. Under the expert direction of guest conductors Sean Kubota and Kevin Noe, they transformed two days of intense rehearsals into a breathtaking concert at St. Mary's on March 1st. Adding to the evening's magic was the world premiere of Hwi Young Kim's award winning composition, One Thousand and One Nights - Silk Road performed by the KPASS Honor Band. (See Student Spotlight for more on this achievement).

Wind Ensemble & Grade 8 Instrumentalists Collaborate at Pep Rally

12 enthusiastic instrumentalists from Grade 8 joined the Wind Ensemble to deliver the first-ever performance at the Pep Rally on March 7 at Seisen Gym balcony.  The Grade 8 students joined the Wind Ensemble rehearsal on two occasions, and they performed Push It to inspire everyone to keep pushing their limits and boundaries as women athletes. The performance was lead by student conductor Claire Chan who stepped in for Ms.Hashimoto-Uesaka, and the seniors and junior members helped organize the logistical aspects of the performance. Bravo on the wonderful collaboration between our middle and high school instrumentalists. Go Phoenix!
