Students in 11th grade DP Visual Art have finished their first unit in the new DP Art curriculum.

This new course is a big change for the subject, the writing components have become more concise while the focus on making and experimenting with arts have become more important.

A big change to the curriculum is the ‘Situate’ learning objective. This focuses on making works of art having the audience, location, and contexts in which they reside, in mind from the very early stages of planning their work.

The images featured here are a few drawings that focus on Seisen as a context in which they make their work. Overall, the highly refined skills of this cohort are clearly noticeable throughout.
