The 1st Filipino Concert Features in Tokyo City “Canciones Filipinas Y Europeas” was held last July 20th, 2024 at Ideareve Ikegami Hall, Tokyo, with a guest artist from Luxembourg, Professor Cipriano De Guzman, Filipino Baritone, and our KG Music teacher,  Ms. Carell Henry, piano, as the collaborating artist. The concert’s main goal is to promote the Philippines' rich cultural and musical heritage to the international communities in Tokyo City.

Ms. Carell is an active piano performer and holds regular concerts that feature Philippine classical music such as “Kundiman”, Filipino art songs, and OPM (Original Philippine Music). She is joined this time by an internationally multi-awarded Filipino Baritone, Zip de Guzman, and showcases vast works from Western operas and arias and Philippine music.

In the Seisen community, we have 13 Filipino staff and many Filipino students. Ms. Carell wants to share with the community our rich and beautiful Filipino culture through music. In addition, the Philippines’s National Language Month is also celebrated every August, and this is a great way for her to promote and appreciate our language. If you are interested in learning more about our Kundiman art songs, please watch the concert video here. English subtitles are provided in the video so you can enjoy watching their performance with a full understanding of the songs. If you want to catch the 2nd Filipino Concert Features 2025, please email her at chenry@seisen.com.
