Activities
"Seisen offers student-led extra curricular activities and opportunities to create their own clubs, thereby allowing students to cultivate leadership skills and take initiative, while also working hand in hand with adults as equal partners."Student quote from CIS/NEASC Preparatory Report (November 2020)
Social Justice
Seisen's Mission is to provide a safe environment in order to empower each student, through shared responsibility, creativity, and human interdependence, to develop their unique talents and to become competent and compassionate players in our global society, capable of empowering others and of bringing hope and peace to our ever-changing world.
An important part of achieving this mission is giving students opportunities to learn about and to participate in issues related to Social Justice.
Athletics
Seisen International School believes that a dynamic and competitive athletics program is an essential element to a student's total education. We believe that Seisen student athletes learn a great deal from participation in athletics and that team membership provides experiences that help them grow and develop, both in the athletics environment and the classroom.
Through sports, students develop their athletics skills, self-discipline, teamwork, goal-setting, sportsmanship, and time-management proficiency. The lessons learned in athletics help students build these life skills that benefit their development as contributing members of their community.

Team Firebird
Originating from our very own Seisen Big Science Day, Firebird established itself as the international experimental-science competitive team formed to enter international science competitions and to enhance science at Seisen. The main goal of the Firebird Science Team is to give the opportunity to passionate and motivated students to pursue science to a higher level in a local and international environment.
In different teams, the students initiated their own projects in STEM fields, entering the CONRAD Innovation Challenge, Google Science Fair or the forthcoming Japan Science and Engineering Challenge (JESC). There were also other projects as the Weather Station Program - implementing and maintaining a local meteorological station on our campus, now starting to forecast weather right from the Seisen Campus.
Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global framework for non-formal education and learning, which challenges young people to dream big, celebrate their achievements and make a difference in their world. Through developing transferable skills, increasing their fitness levels, cultivating a sense of adventure and volunteering in their community, the Award helps young people to find their purpose, passion and place in the world.
It operates in more than 130 countries and territories, helping to inspire millions of young people. And although the Award’s framework remains the same wherever it is delivered, no two Awards are the same. Instead, each young person designs and creates their own bespoke programme, unique to them. There are currently more than a million young people doing their Award around the world, via hundreds of thousands of youth-focused partners and operators, including schools, youth organisations, examination boards and youth offender institutions.
Founded more than 60 years ago, the Award is available to all 14-24-year olds and equips young people with the skills they need for life regardless of their background, culture, physical ability or interests. On an individual level this can make a transformational difference to a young person’s life; on a collective basis, it has the power to bring significant change to wider society.

Model United Nations
The Model United Nations (MUN) group prepares throughout the school year for various MUN events. Students are responsible for learning about issues and responding to other delegates as a representative of their assigned country.
International MUN conferences we have attended in past years include Shanghai and The Hague. MUN events are hosted by various schools around Japan.
Seisen International School hosted our first MUN conference in 2018.
