Exciting Design Camp Opportunity from IDEO in August
English speaking high schoolers will be learning how to work on a design challenge - from gaining inspiration and empathy on a topic, to brainstorming with peers, creating concepts, prototyping and story-telling their future vision with others.
From IDEO Tokyo:
We wanted to share an opportunity this summer for English-speaking high school students to participate in a free 1 week design thinking camp, hosted by IDEO Tokyo from August 5-9th, at their studio in Omotesando.
IDEO Tokyo is a design and innovation consultancy with headquarters in Silicon Valley. From designing the first manufacturable mouse for Apple 40 years ago, to advancing the practice of human-centered design, IDEO has long been at the forefront of creating positive change in the world through design. To learn more about IDEO, visit here.
Our veteran camp counselor and Partner at IDEO, Brendan Boyle, who has been running the design camp in Silicon Valley each summer, will be flying here to hold the design camp in Tokyo for the first time.
There are no prerequisites for participation, except curiosity for creative problem solving to make positive impact in the world (and, of course, English). The high schoolers will be learning how to work on a design challenge - from gaining inspiration and empathy on a topic, to brainstorming with peers, creating concepts, prototyping and story-telling their future vision with others. It should be an extremely fun week of hands-on activities, and learning new skillsets and mindsets directly from IDEO designers, and the founders of design thinking.
Dates: Monday, August 5th - Friday, August 9th
Times: 8:30–16:00 (Mon-Thu), 8:30–14:00 (Fri)
Venue: IDEO Tokyo
Capacity: 20 participants
Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided daily.
We would very much appreciate if you could share this opportunity with your high school students.
To participation, please respond to the form below by 18:00 on Friday, July 19th.
Please reach out to Nathan Paterson ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) at IDEO Tokyo for any questions.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
