An Important Update: Online/ At Home Learning Extension and Seisen/ St. Mary's Campus Closure through June 5, 2020
Dear Seisen Community,
After much effort in seeking solutions, many conversations around forming contingency plans, and deep reflection, we must inform you of our decision to continue with our respective Online/ At Home Learning programs and school campus closure until the end of the school year, Friday, June 5, 2020.
The COVID -19 health crisis has changed our lives on and off campus in ways that could not have been predicted at the start of the 2019 - 2020 school year. The uncertainty and concern surrounding the spread of COVID-19 over the last several weeks has deeply impacted the spirit of our shared community.
Decisions made by the administration at both schools have held at their center the health and safety of the students and our shared school community. The unpredictable speed and scope of the spread of the virus, scientific and medical information, governmental directives and requests, guidelines from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on reopening schools, and the concerns of families and faculty have all played their role as we debated how we should move forward with the rest of the school year.
By announcing our decision now, we hope to focus our energy on strengthening our respective approaches to the educational and social emotional well-being of our students in such unprecedented times. The goals of this decision are to alleviate the anxiety surrounding health-related concerns, to ensure continuity of education, and to facilitate logistical planning of daily and school life.
