PYP Coffee Morning For Grade 4-6 Parents
8:45 - 9:45 in the Multi-Purpose Room:
"How to Foster a Strong Connection & Promote Resilience during the “Tween” Years: A Workshop for Parents"
With the implementation of the Enhanced PYP, there is an increased focus on helping to build our student’s social, communication, and self-management skills. Parents can be instrumental in guiding their “tweens” during these early adolescent years, and assist their children in becoming better friends, students and self-advocates. During this workshop, Ms. Carnright will discuss the social and emotional aspects of adolescence, to include conflict resolution strategies, how to instill a “growth mindset,” and tips for how to engage with and support your daughter during this stage of development. This presentation will be targeted at parents with children in grades 4 to 6.
In Addition, Grades 5 and 6 students will share their science knowledge and skills from their recent units of inquiry directly after the session from 10 to 11.
