Winter MAP Testing
On Friday 6th April we held a second MAP Testing Coffee Morning. This session focused on how to interpret the Winter Progress Report and indications of growth since Fall.
This morning we held another Coffee Morning to explore the MAP tests with parents. We started by looking at what the test looks like and gave parents an opportunity to answer some of the questions using the practice test.
Parents had the chance to interpret data from some sample data (see the slideshow, below) and we discussed how, although the tests can provide valuable information on student achievement and growth, it is just one piece of the jigsaw and teachers work to triangulate the data with formative, ongoing classroom assessments and everyday observations.
Winter MAP Progress Reports have been mailed to all parents today and should arrive at your homes shortly. If you have any questions about the results and how to interpret them, please consult the accompanying letter and guide. Alternatively, please don't hesitate to contact your daughter's homeroom teacher, Mr. Hughes or Dr. Sandra.
Last Friday we held two information sessions for parents: A PYP coffee morning on building resilience and a PYP Exhibition family information evening.
