Dear Parents,

Our COVID-19 related decisions leading to the campus closures of Seisen International School and St. Mary’s International School have been motivated by the health and safety of our students, teachers, staff, and shared communities. This will continue to be our focal point as we navigate uncertain times together.

Due to an increase in the number of diagnosed COVID-19 cases in Tokyo and surrounding areas and the increased level of uncertainty, both schools have taken an abundance of caution in now deciding to extend school campus closure through Sunday, April 19, with school campus reopening on Monday, April 20, 2020. Online/ At Home Learning will carry on, and updates from principals will be communicated later this week.

Both schools will continue to monitor the situation with the best interests of our school communities in mind. We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding during this unprecedented global health crisis.

Sincerely,

Colette Rogers                             Saburo Kagei

Seisen and St. Mary's will continue with their Online/ At Home Learning programs from Monday, March 30th. Students will return to school on Monday. April 6th.

Dear Parents,

From our initial email announcing the school campus closures until March 30th of Seisen International School and St Mary’s International School, and the initiation of our respective schools’ Online/ At Home Learning plans, the situation in Japan and indeed the world, has changed with the World Health Organization declaring COVID-19 a pandemic. Countries around the world are closing borders, and in effect restricting daily life in efforts to contain and to slow down the transmission of the virus.

Here in Japan, within our shared community, there is a heightened awareness of and sensitivity to the highly contagious nature of this virus. In an effort to place the health and safety of our communities at the center of our decision making, as we face the challenges and uncertainties in relation to the spread of COVID - 19 in Tokyo, the Seisen International School and the St Mary’s International School campuses will remain closed to students until Monday, April 6. Both schools will continue with their Online/ At Home Learning programs from Monday, March 30th.

In light of the upcoming spring break and the likelihood of families traveling, we would strongly advise against international travel given health risks and complications upon returning to Japan. One responsibility we expect of all community members is to self-report all international travel to our school nurses prior to April 6, and to abide by any government directives in regard to quarantine conditions and duration. We would also ask that any diagnosed case of the virus in your respective families be honestly reported to the schools as well.

We appreciate your continued support and understanding as we closely monitor developments in Japan.

With prayers for the continuing good health of all members of our communities.
