Dean Bevan

The IB has announced that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and the loss of instructional time it has been decided that the adaptations put in place for the 2021 exams will be extended for the May 2022 and November 2022 sessions.

A link to the adaptations for the May 2021 exam session that will be applied to the May 2022 examination session can be found here

All documents related to the 2021 adaptations are currently being updated to reflect these changes for 2022 sessions and will be re-published in the coming weeks. If there is any change to the content from guidance issued for May 2021 I will let you know.

What does this mean for our students?

  1. This means students won’t have to open an exam paper worrying that that may not be able to answer any questions – exams have been designed to be accessible based on the reduced learning time students have experienced. In our case reduced learning time has been minimal.
  2. There will be less content that students have to revise for their final exams.
  3. Students need to ensure that their Internal Assessments are of the highest possible quality, as these will count for an increased proportion of the final results.

Of course the situation is fluid so we will let you know of any changes or important updates as and when we hear them from the IB.

Many thanks,
Mr Bevan
