What is Good Journalism?
During the ceremony the MCs explained the criteria that judges used to assess all of the nominees.
Entries were scored from 1 to 10 in four categories: writing, reporting, sources and impact.
Master of Ceremonies Hitomi Hattori stated, "The hardest work for the judges may have been in surmising the impact these stories were likely to have. They considered wether the story would be likely to motivate readers to take positive action for themselves, a community or the world."
Judges included veteran journalists, teachers, authors, television producers and corporate communication professionals.
