Seisen Jazz Band performs at 2023 Kanto Plain Jazz Festival
After a three year hiatus, the Seisen Jazz Band students in middle and high school performed at the Kanto Plain Jazz Festival on February 8th at Christian Academy of Japan. The ensemble was lauded for their excellent blend and the high quality of solos by the guest adjudicators, and their performance was well received by the audience who clapped along to their numbers. After the student jazz ensembles performed, the audience was treated to a fantastic performance by the guest clinicians to conclude the event. The Seisen Jazz Band performed Big Swing Face by William O Potts arr. R. Siger, Happy by Pharrell Williams arr.John Berry, and Dizzy Gillespie's "Night in Tunisia" featuring flute soloist Yunji Chae, alto saxophone soloist Seoyoon Kim, tenor saxophonist Leina Pham-The, and piano soloist Yuna Lee.
