Inernship Report: Jessy Xu at 24Karat

During the summer of 2022, a number of Seisen students were able to complete an internship that was offered by Seisen parents. These internships lasted between two weeks to seven weeks. On behalf of the students and the school I would like to sincerely thank them for their generosity and giving our students such a great opportunity to learn about the real world of work. 

My internship for the company 24Karat has been a motivational and insightful experience and definitely a highlight of the summer. Throughout 7 weeks of directly working with the CEO, I was able to learn about the Meta universe and NFT technology. I was also able to be a part of critiquing the company’s application and working with their client.

In the later weeks, I focused on developing a project that incorporated tokens/NFT technology into serving meaningful action to society. The project that I came up with aims to bettering the environment by recycling clothes, and helping the homeless people. Although the idea was not carried out in real life at the end, it was still a great chance to learn how these projects could be done.

Overall, I got to learn new things that would not be taught at school and apply the skills we learned to something that has greater purpose. Since the company was small in size, I always got a chance to share my ideas. I also appreciate the company for being very supportive at all times.

This opportunity would push you to constantly communicate with the adults and pre-experiencing what it is like to be working. I think that doing an internship in a field that you are interested in would be very helpful in setting a goal for the future and motivating you to work harder.
