In September 2020, the PE department decided to initiate a 'Virtual Climb To Mount Fuji Challenge' for the ES students with the aim to encourage the students to continue participating in physical activity in light of the cancellation of SASA and in-school activities due to Covid-19.
Our hope was to promote fitness goal setting and provide opportunities for students to work towards these goals . In addition, the PE department raised the awareness that students should be conscious of their activity and steps OUTSIDE of Seisen and were educated on how to use pedometers to count their steps.
During each week of this challenge, a different elementary homeroom found a 10 minute time slot in their day where the students went to the tennis courts and walked daily for a week. Weekly results were displayed on the Mt Fuji Challenge board in the cafeteria which allowed students to observe their classes' weekly results, overall results and how many times each house could climb the height of Mt. Fuji!

Congratulations to the Ontake House!
As a reward to the Ontake house members, students in Ontake wore their Ontake House shirt and jeans to school on Thursday, April 1st and participated in an Ontake House photoshoot to commemorate this awesome achievement! We are extremely proud of all our students in the all houses who put so much effort into achieving success in this ES Health and Fitness initiative.
