Congratulations to our recent Duke of Edinburgh Award recipients!
Shantelle Kotowich, Bill Skulmoski, Peter Lawton
Mt. Takao

Mount Takao December 2020

In September, seven of our Duke of Edinburgh Award participants received their Bronze Awards. This award indicates a great achievement on the part of each student in showing their commitment and dedication to challenging themselves with new activities and experiences and growing into more confident and well-rounded individuals.

The Award consists of four sections; Physical Recreation, Skills, Voluntary Service, and the Adventurous Journey. In order to win the Award, students must set themselves a goal for each section and complete a certain number of hours in pursuit of that goal. Please see below what each candidate accomplished in each of her sections. Please visit our DOE @ Seisen Site to learn more about the Award.

All seven of these candidates completed their Practice Journey to Mount Takao and the Tama River in December last year, and went on to finish their Qualifying Journey in Hakone in April. Four of these participants are moving on to complete their Silver or Gold Awards. We wish them all the best in their continued efforts and growth.
