College Research Process Aided by Online Fair
Pearl Dutki (Class of 2023)

On Tuesday 12th April, Seisen high school students and parents had the opportunity to participate in an online university fair hosted by an external organization called NOVVA. Due to the pandemic, students missed out on in person university visits and this invaluable opportunity has allowed Seisen students and parents to connect with admissions and find out more about different universities.

Grade 11 students were granted the opportunity to participate in an online university. Attending this fair was very useful in researching and knowing more about universities I might apply to next year. The platform on which this fair was held, The Next-Gen of Student Fairs, was very informative, especially in helping me select universities that are best for me. Before the fair, there was a short questionnaire about my college preferences, such as the teaching style and lecture room size, which I consider essential components of a university. Thirty-two colleges attended this fair and using the search function, I was able to narrow down universities by selecting the course that I would like to study at university. A feature that I fondly liked was the online availability of admission counselors so that students could engage in a discussion and ask questions regarding the university. Overall, it was a very insightful and enriching experience that has aided my college research process as I decide where I would like to apply next year.
