Sports Campers Take On Table Tennis

Sports Campers Take On Table Tennis

Sports Campers learn how to play table tennis, and cooperate!

After a fun morning at the Nissan Water Park, Sports Campers enjoyed some fun activities back at school, including Table Tennis.

While Seisen has very nice Table Tennis equipment, it is not frequently used. Miki Haggstrom, rising 10th grader, exclaimed, “I was really excited to play Table Tennis with the campers, because we never really have the opportunity to play!”. A sports camper added, “Table Tennis is so fun because it’s different from a lot of the other sports! I also really like the sound that the ball makes when it bounces and when I hit the ball.” Some of the Sports Camp leaders also helped and taught the students new to playing Table Tennis, as many of the students had never played before.

Playing Table Tennis also allowed the Sports Campers to work on their cooperation skills. To make sure that everyone was included, some tables had more than 4 players, and so instead of singles or doubles, campers played the game, Around the World. Furthermore, with only 3 balls, but 4 tables, the campers combined 2 of the tables so that everyone could play! One of the campers said, “It’s really important that everyone is involved and that no one is left out, because playing sports is fun when everyone is able to play!”
