The Pre-3rd graders are trying all sorts of assignments in their classroom that help them improve their skills in multiple areas.  In readers theater, 3A is reading the play ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ to the other third grade class.  Every student gets assigned a different character or narrator in the play and they read the script accordingly together.  This mainly helps them practice their reading skills, as the play includes words and ideas that aren’t very familiar to the students, and by having them read it out multiple times to each other and to an audience will help them improve their reading.  This is also the first step to the practicing their acting skills.  Since they only have to talk, they have to focus on the tone of their voice and how they present their lines, rather than how they act on stage.  The students are always receiving new assignments like this that aren’t very familiar to them to introduce them to new types of assignments and areas of learning that they will be doing in the future.
