Pre-3rd Graders Expand On Their English By Learning Homophones

The Pre-3rd graders are expanding on their english writing and reading abilities by learning the function and purpose of homophones.

The Pre-3rd graders are expanding on their english writing and reading abilities by learning the function and purpose of homophones.  Homophones are two words that sound the same but are spelt differently and mean different things (ex. flower, flour).  Recognizing these concepts in writing and reading is an important skill that can be used in the future when the students begin to expand their vocabulary even more and come across many words that sounds familiar, however are completely different.  To help their understanding, the students had to create a quiz for the other pre-3rd grade class.  The purpose of this quiz was to make sure that the girls understand the concept of homophones to the point where they can test others on it and explain it to other students.  Ms. Meyes is constantly assisting the girls with these assignments by making sure that they are never off track and always understand purpose behind the assignments that they are given.
