The afternoon elementary students have started their second week in a new activity.
The afternoon elementary students have started their second week in a new activity. The pre-2nd and pre-3rd grade students started their week of sports camp, while the older students began art and the younger students began ICT. The purpose of this rotation is to give each student a chance to do a bit of each activity during summer school so they can learn a variety of skills and experience different topics of interest.
The sports students began their afternoon with a couple different tag games as a warm up, then they were joined by the all day students in a big game of capture the flag and dodgeball. This gave all the girls a chance to play and work together with campers of other ages as well as their own.
The ICT class began their lesson by understanding the basics of the iPad that they will be using for most of the next week. The instructors taught them the basics of how to use it as this technology was new to many students. After they're backed familiar with how to use their iPads, the instructors introduced them to their tasks for the rest of the week.
The art students starts and completed their first project which was a creative take on their names. They would decorate and cut our each letter of their name and display it creatively on another piece of paper. This was a 3D take on 2D art which gave the girls an understanding of what they are going to be doing for the next week.
As the next four days go by, the teachers and student leaders hope that the students can explore new activities and learn new skills that they can continue to improve on as they continue their time at Seisen.
