2019 Summer School Begins

The 2019 Summer School kicks off… with rain and smiles!

The pouring rain and chilly weather seemed to be forgotten on the first day of the three-week summer school program, covered up by the excitement and smiles of all the students and teachers.

Newly introduced to the summer program are classes for parents, as well as a full-day program for the Kindergarteners, expanding the range of students attending summer school from children to adults! Regardless of age, this Summer program allows all students to enhance and learn new skills, as well as meet new people and make new friendships. This summer program also creates a learning environment that promotes and encourages all those involved to "learn to love, and love to learn". Grace Starr, a rising 12th grader says, "Meeting new people and getting to know new classmates allows me to learn to love while being around people that I get along with or are getting to know makes learning enjoyable! Also, because you are able to choose summer school classes for high school, I am able to be more motivated and love to learn!"

Whether in an Elementary class, or a High School and Middle School class, the students started off their classes with introductions. The students played ice breaker games in the HS/MS classrooms to get to know their new classmates from different grades, while in the Elementary side, some students started off their first day by writing a letter to their new teacher to introduce themselves.

All in all, the first day of summer school was filled w with students eager to learn! The Summer School Program coordinator, Mr. Britain, expressed his enthusiasm stating, “I am so excited to see so many happy faces in what is going to be the biggest Seisen Summer school ever!"
