KG Students Take On Fruit Salad and the Five Senses
Lauren Woody

The KG students enjoy the highlight of their 5 senses week, Fruit Salad Day!

This week, the Kindergarten students have been enjoying the theme of, “The Five Senses”. As the main event of this week, today, they made fruit salads and ate pancakes! Making fruit salad is a great way for the students to enjoy learning about the sense of touch, and physically eating to further learn about the sense of taste. They also sorted different foods into the different categories of taste, such as sweet and salty foods, which the students had a lot of fun doing while also learning more about the sense of taste.

Earlier this week, the students also learned about the different colors, which allowed them to learn more about the sense of sight. They also worked on the senses of sight through reading, and listening, with sentences and books! The students also learned about the sense of hearing through making their own instruments using beans and beads, and shaking it to make different sounds. They also guessed different sounds such as different instrument sounds, water sounds, and car sound which they had a lot of fun doing!

In the final few days, the students will be working on the senses of touch and smell to finish up this years summer program!
