Math For Parents
Lead by Mr. Usher (Head of Mathematics)

This course is designed for parents who feel like they have a difficult time supporting their daughter's learning of mathematics. The course will give participants hands-on experience with the type of mathematics their daughters are doing. The course objectives include 1) developing the confidence of those who might consider themselves "not a math person"; 2) helping parents better understand the aims of a mathematics education; and 3) providing practical ideas and strategies parents can use to support their daughters learning of mathematics at home. (Recommended for parents of children entering grades 5 to 9)

(Offered in Week 2)

Positive Discipline for Parents
Lead by Ms. Varriale (MS/HS Counselor)

Are you tired of getting into power struggles with your child? Would you like to enjoy a greater sense of peace and collaboration in your home? Positive Discipline, developed by Jane Nelsen and Lynn Lott based on the theories of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs, offers strategies to help build relationships based on mutual respect. Participants of this course will learn Adlerian theory and will leave day one with tools that can be used immediately.
