Exciting Design Camp Opportunity from IDEO in August

English speaking high schoolers will be learning how to work on a design challenge - from gaining inspiration and empathy on a topic, to brainstorming with peers, creating concepts, prototyping and story-telling their future vision with others.

Parent Summer School Courses

At Seisen International School we are all life-long learners.
This year for the first time we will offer courses for parents as well.
Bring your daughter to school, and stick around to develop your own skills. 
Parent Summer School courses will run for 5 consecutive days from 8:30 to 10:00 am. 
The cost per course is 20,000yen.

Math For Parents
Lead by Mr. Usher (Head of Mathematics)

This course is designed for parents who feel like they have a difficult time supporting their daughter's learning of mathematics. The course will give participants hands-on experience with the type of mathematics their daughters are doing. The course objectives include 1) developing the confidence of those who might consider themselves "not a math person"; 2) helping parents better understand the aims of a mathematics education; and 3) providing practical ideas and strategies parents can use to support their daughters learning of mathematics at home. (Recommended for parents of children entering grades 5 to 9)

Positive Discipline for Parents
Lead by Ms. Varriale (MS/HS Counselor)

Are you tired of getting into power struggles with your child? Would you like to enjoy a greater sense of peace and collaboration in your home? Positive Discipline, developed by Jane Nelsen and Lynn Lott based on the theories of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs, offers strategies to help build relationships based on mutual respect. Participants of this course will learn Adlerian theory and will leave day one with tools that can be used immediately.
