As I was cycling around my neighborhood yesterday, I noticed two of the sakura trees had bloomed.  So of course I stopped, got off my bike, and snapped a picture.  And it was a great reminder of how even when the world feels like it is in chaos, we can still count on nature to reassure us

Go to the Mat!

There is a famous line in Francis Ford Coppolla's, 1972 Academy Award winning film "The Godfather", that says, "We go the mattresses".  This line was made famous again in Nora Ephron's 1998 romantic comedy, "You've Got Mail".  Essentially, "go to the mattresses" is an expression that means to prepare for battle.

Use these steps to connect to the Seisen weather station and get the latest weather conditions at the school on your apple device.

1. Download the app “Weather Link”

2.Open Weather Link and click the + sign

3.Click + again to search for “Firebird”

4.Choose Firebird

5.You should now see the current SIS weather conditions.

6.To change units from standard to metric press the “ i ” button.

Firebird Weather Forecast

Weather Station Project

This year Firebird Science Team started a new project - the Weather Station Project - sponsored by SPA having the goal to run a local weather station inside our campus. The project originated from the Seisen Experiential learning program and tries to engage the students in a career oriented activity, and giving back the weather forecasting experience to Seisen Community .
Phase 1 – 2016 - 2017 School Year Acquisition, mounting, training and implementation of a Local Weather Station on Seisen Campus – starting forecasting weather

Phase 2 – 2017 - 2018 School Year Creating a webpage and a smart app for iPhone, iPad and other platforms to display weather forecast daily
Phase 1 is undergoing and we expect the first forecast before the Big Science Day.
