All teachers, staff, and administrators are fully responsible for the safety of students. All parents and visitors to school are expected to sign in at the main office and wear the provided visitor ID. Comprehensive emergency procedures are in place to ensure safe and speedy evacuation in the event of fire, earthquake, or lockdown. To increase the awareness of emergency procedures, instructional and practice drills are held at regular intervals during the school year. The school also maintains the emergency contact information of all students.
The school understands the seriousness of food allergies. The school maintains a list of students with food allergies and shares this important information with the cafeteria staff. The parents are also expected to update their children’s allergy information at the beginning of the school year. To minimize the risk, the cafeteria staff consistently labels the ingredients in food and beverages served. Two resident nurses are available to treat allergic reactions and they maintain emergency doses of students’ anti-allergy medication. However, it is important to note that the students and their parents are primarily responsible to minimize the risks associated with food allergies.
